Fortuna Redevelopment Agency River Lodge and Monday Club The Fortuna Redevelopment Agency built River Lodge to provide a place for Fortuna's citizens to hold local events, conferences, and workshops. Attracting meetings from outside the area benefits the local businesses by bringing more people to town and it benefits the City by bringing in more sales and bed tax revenues.  The City is operating River Lodge like a business. This means that the rental income needs to cover the operational expenses. If you are interested in renting River Lodge or the Monday Club please call 707-725-7572.   Housing Improvement Loan Program In 1989 the Fortuna Redevelopment Agency developed its Housing Rehabilitation Program in order to preserve the housing stock in the community and upgrade its neighborhoods. The Agency has made loans to seventy-one residents. The program provides financing to lower income residents so that they can maintain their home. About sixty percent of the loans have been made to senior citizens on fixed incomes. Most of the rest of the loans have been made to single parents with children. The City assists the homeowner in obtaining cost estimates for the repairs and finding a contractor to do the work. The loans are used to fix problems with electrical, plumbing, and heating systems. They are also used to repair roofs, paint, and replace carpeting. If you are interested in a loan, please call 707-725-7600.   Business Loan Program In 1993 the Fortuna Redevelopment Agency developed a business loan program to help local businesses expand and to assist people in starting a new business. The Agency has made twenty-six loans totaling $1.3 million. If a person can obtain a loan from a bank, they do not qualify for the program. The loans have ranged from $5,000 to $250,000.
