(Continued from page 1) Lovick said original committee members were "friends of Frank," not necessarily car people. "Almost all of the committee people had no idea what these things were," he said. Members who attended other shows came back with ideas for AutoXpo, which was one of the first shows to have crafts and antiques, Lovick said. AutoXpo still has a swap meet, too, something many other car shows don't have, he said. A popular event at any car show is "The Cruise." AutoXpo starts off with this popular event on Friday night. Viewers enjoy it as much as the participants; many residents pull out barbecues, lawn chairs and picnic baskets and make a party of it. The party can continue at the hop - the Sock Hop, that is, Friday night at River Lodge. Anybody who is now or used to be a teen-ager will enjoy the '50s music, hula hoop contests and other fun '50s activities. Dress in appropriate '50s garb for a chance at prizes in the costume contest, or come as you are - either way, you're guaranteed to have a good time. (Continued on page 3)
