(Continued from page 2) Saturday,
Main Street and many of the side streets will be blocked to traffic and
filled sidewalk to sidewalk with shiny cars, their proud owners, and
enthusiastic admirers.
If that sounds like a lot of walking, don't worry - you can beat the traffic and save your feet by using the free AutoXpo Rapid Transit to get around town. The buses run from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.; a route map is here. Look for the yellow school bus! You can spice up your weekend with a little more action at the antique tractor pull, held both Saturday and Sunday, and the Burn Out Contest on Sunday afternoon, all in the rodeo arena at Rohner Park. And Saturday night, be sure to get in on the fun of the Poker Run. This is a different kind of a "cruise," where participants follow directions to planned stops around the Eel River Valley. At each stop a game is played to earn a playing card, and at the end of the run, the person with the best poker hand wins a prize. AutoXpo participants can end their Poker Run drive at Rohner Park to enjoy tri-tip steak and all the trimmings at the popular participant-only barbecue. Poker Run prizes are given out at the end of the barbecue.
The Fortuna Redwood AutoXpo truly has something for everyone. The AutoXpo Committee hopes you take home lots of good memories, and maybe a trophy or two. Visit the Fortuna Redwood AutoXpo web site. North Coast Journal's article on Fortuna's AutoXpo
