Daff-Mania! Springtime in Humboldt County means daffodils. The Fortuna Garden Club’s 33rd annual Daffodil Show features more than 600 stems of the sunny flowers on display. This is one of three
major daffodil shows in the state, drawing amateur growers and propagators from California and Oregon. Judging both mornings, open to the public afternoons. Admission is free. Watch the event LIVE on the

Saturday in Scotia, Sunday on the Eel River
Get your canoe or kayak into the Eel River and start paddling (or come and cheer on the competitors) in this downriver event. Kids events, Sprint races and the “Mayors Cup” in Scotia pond on Saturday. Sunday, the 30-mile river marathon and 10-mile race both finish in Fortuna at River Lodge. Underwritten by the Pacific Lumber Company.

Guided three-mile hikes to view Headwaters Forest are available on weekends, May through mid-November, weather permitting. Reservations are required. Contact Bureau of Land management at 707-825-2300.

with a visit to the farmer’s market. Farm fresh vegetables, plants, flowers,

This event centers in Downtown Fortuna with Main Street and the side streets filled with sellers of antiques, collectibles and rummage. The rest of town gets into the act with yard and garage sales all over.

A perfect start to summer in the heart of Fortuna. Hundreds of wines to taste, from local vintners and from around the world. A fine arts area and crafts market to browse and shop. Next to the festival the Veterans of Foreign Wars cooks deep-pit barbecue. Sponsored by the Rotary Club of Fortuna. Free Admission, $15 glass for tasting. Monday Club
September marks the start of Fortuna's monthly concert series in the warm, intimate environment of the Monday Club.
Eight performances from classical to ragtime and jazz, vaudeville to folk,
bringing local and out-of-the-area talent to the stage. A different musician or group the second Saturday of every month excluding December. More information
